The contract and the parties
Who the parties are, what the Contract is and when it runs. These particulars appear in Section 2 of the claim and in every citation.
Location, programme and access (optional, used in Section 2)
What happened
The event or events giving rise to the claim, in your own words. The builder maps them onto the clauses of the selected form and writes the Statement of Facts around the chronology.
The chronology
Dated events with the letter that proves each one. Rows arrive from the evidence desk, or can be typed here. The Statement of Facts is written from this table and every row is cited with its annex.
What the Contractor did about it
Sub-Clause 8.4(b) asks for reasonable steps, not the impossible. Tick the measures taken and add a line of detail where there is a letter or record to cite.
The legal basis
One proposition per clause relied on, drawn from the clause library and your facts. Add the Engineer's objections with the answer to each, and any authority you intend to cite.
The delay analysis
The method, the baseline, the critical delay and the extension claimed. Figures from the delay check are offered when they are on this device.
The quantum
Four categories, as the house form has them. Enter each head of cost with its amount; the summaries, the overhead and profit and the figure in words are calculated.
Review and export
The full document as it will read. Edit any section in place, run the style sweep, then export to Word in the house format.
Helvetica Neue 11 pt, 1.5 line spacing, decimal numbering linked to the headings, table of contents and page numbers. The table of contents lists the sections; open in Word and press F9 to add the page numbers.
One paragraph per block, separated by a blank line. Use *italics* for annex references and quotations, and **bold** for the figures that matter.
